John Martin Companies provided general contracting services for a comprehensive exterior renovation at Salem Baptist Church of Chicago while the facility remained active for regular church operations.

The project included structural and aesthetic improvements to the building exterior, masonry restoration, and new site features designed to enhance the entry experience for the congregation and visitors. One of the signature elements of the project involved custom concrete etching that integrated scripture into the entry walkway leading to the main entrance.

Careful planning and coordination were required to complete the work while minimizing disruption to church services and community events. The completed improvements modernize the building’s exterior while preserving the character and significance of the historic congregation.

The project broke ground in July of 2023 and will be completing this year.
