Overview

John Martin Companies served as General Contractor for a major mechanical upgrade at Ace Hardware’s Loxley, Alabama Retail Support Center — a 900,000+ square foot distribution facility delivered in partnership with Ace’s program management team at CBRE and Turner & Townsend.

The scope added full climate control to the warehouse with seven ground-mounted units at approximately 130 tons each — over 900 tons of new cooling capacity — along with complete duct distribution throughout the RSC. JMC also delivered substantial electrical service upgrades, exterior site work, and extensive concrete work for equipment pads, tie-ins, and supporting infrastructure.

The work was executed without taking the RSC offline. JMC phased concrete pours, mechanical tie-ins, and electrical cutovers around active shipping and receiving — running a mix of night shifts, weekend windows, and carefully sequenced daytime work so Ace could keep serving its retailers throughout construction. The project hit its milestones while JMC simultaneously delivered the parallel upgrade at Ace’s Wilmer, AL RSC — demonstrating the bandwidth to run concurrent large-scale projects for the same client without compromise to either site.

Completed Q4 2025 at a contract value of approximately $10.5 million.
