John Martin Companies served as General Contractor for a major mechanical upgrade at Ace Hardware’s Wilmer, Texas Retail Support Center — a 900,000 square foot distribution facility at 1101 E Pleasant Run Rd, delivered in partnership with Ace’s program management team at CBRE and Turner & Townsend.

The scope added full climate control to the warehouse with seven ground-mounted units at approximately 130 tons each — over 900 tons of new cooling capacity — along with complete duct distribution throughout the RSC. JMC also delivered substantial electrical service upgrades, exterior site work, and extensive concrete work for equipment pads, tie-ins, and supporting infrastructure.

Through close coordination with CBRE and Turner & Townsend, JMC identified and executed a value engineering change order that returned over $300,000 in savings to Ace Hardware without compromising scope, performance, or finish quality on the delivered system.

The work was executed without taking the RSC offline. JMC phased concrete pours, mechanical tie-ins, and electrical cutovers around active shipping and receiving — running a mix of night shifts, weekend windows, and carefully sequenced daytime work so Ace could keep serving its retailers throughout construction. The project hit its milestones while JMC simultaneously delivered the parallel upgrade at Ace’s Loxley, AL RSC — demonstrating the bandwidth to run concurrent large-scale projects for the same client without compromise to either site.

Completed Q4 2025 at a contract value of approximately $11.1 million.
